This page explains how reviews on this site are produced, how monetization works, and what standards every published post is expected to meet.
How we test
Our review standard covers real-use scenarios — extended recording sessions, gameplay capture, cross-device workflows — rather than surface-level feature comparisons. Every review is expected to include at least one specific, falsifiable detail about the tool’s behavior, a clearly stated limitation, and a direct comparison to at least one alternative.

Affiliate relationships do not determine which products we cover, how we rate them, or what we say about their limitations. A product’s advertisers, if any, have no editorial input into review content.
Ratings
Our signal-bar rating reflects overall recommendation strength based on testing, pricing fairness relative to competitors, and reliability in real use. Ratings are updated when a tool changes meaningfully — a new version, a pricing change, or a feature removed.
Corrections
If you believe something in a review is inaccurate or out of date, please reach out via our Contact page. We update posts when a factual error is confirmed, and note significant changes with an updated “last verified” date.
What we don’t do
We don’t accept payment in exchange for a positive review or a specific rating. We don’t publish reviews of software we haven’t actually tested. We don’t remove genuine criticism of a product because of an advertising or affiliate relationship.
